Technical Presentation with Bryant Stanton
Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 4:00pm-5:30pm
Life in a Full-Service Stained Glass Studio
Bryant will discuss his almost 50-year journey in stained glass. We will tour our studios and discuss the various diverse projects on the benches, from new work to repair and preservation. At each bench, there will be a time of questions and answers.
Bryant Stanton moved to Texas in 1975 and soon discovered his lifelong passion for glass while studying art at Texas Tech University. That fascination quickly developed into a career, and in 1978, he founded Stanton Studios, LLC, in Waco, TX. Over the years, he has collaborated with many of Texas’s top architects and design firms, upholding a clear artistic goal: to design, craft, and install unique custom glass windows, entryways, domes, lighting, and sculptures for private homes, hotels, churches, and corporate settings.
Now in his fifth decade of work, Stanton’s reputation for quality is well established. His craftsmanship is in demand across Texas and nationwide, with installations showcased in churches, historic buildings, educational institutions, government facilities, public spaces, restaurants, and private homes. Bryant remains deeply committed to both his craft and the broader field. He currently serves as President of the Stained Glass Association of America (SGAA) and is actively involved in mentoring emerging artists, preserving historic glass, and advocating for architectural-glass artistry.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first SGAA On the Road stop in Denver, CO!

Why was this initiative started?
This initiative came about because the stained glass world is going through a major shift - as some long-time studios close or change hands, a new wave of independent, self-taught artists is stepping in, bringing with them the grassroots energy of the 1970s.
People are eager to learn, connect, and grow, and SGAA saw a real opportunity to support this next generation by refocusing on what matters most: sharing knowledge. With a renewed emphasis on advocacy and education, the initiative is building momentum through peer-led workshops, updated outreach efforts, and infrastructure that bridges the gap between seasoned professionals and emerging voices.
These smaller-scale events, like SGAA On the Road, are designed to strengthen regional communities by fostering closer relationships between larger studios and independent artists in each area. Compared to the annual conference, SGAA On the Road is also a more affordable way for people to engage and grow locally, helping the future of stained glass thrive.
SGAA On the Road is a nationwide, traveling program with regional events planned in cities across the country. We're bringing the experience to you!
SGAA On the Road is open to everyone
