Stained glass artists have often been confined to picking out the glass they need from the glass shop. And while there is an abundance of wonderful glass on the market, what if you could make your own? In this class we will explore designs that can be fired into a single sheet appropriate for foiling or lead technique. Using, powders, frits, stingers, enamels and stencils, students will be able to realize many interesting patterns not normally found in the off the shelf glass shop. This is a hands-on workshop and students can expect to create 2- 3 custom sheets, more depending on kiln space.
Topics covered will include creating custom stencils, powder painting and line manipulation. Kiln Firing Schedules and trouble shooting in the kiln will be highlighted along with safety and best practices.
Bring your questions and and a set of your favorite cutting tools. (Scoring Knife, Running Pliers, and a Grozer.) Basic brushes will be provided, and feel free to bring favorites.
Materials in this kit include:
Bullseye Glass, Frit, powders and stringers.
EZ_Fire Fusemaster Enamels
Reusche Enamels
